Diamond
Diamond — as in diamond hands — is the sacred grip of retail trading: the pledge to hold a position through any crash, any margin call, any objective evidence, rendered forever as two emoji: gem and raised hands.
Origin
The phrase grew in the r/wallstreetbets trading forum in the late 2010s, where holding a collapsing position was reframed from failure into valor. Its opposite, Paper Hands, folds under pressure; diamond hands compress.
Rise
The GameStop squeeze of January 2021 made diamond hands a household phrase — printed on shirts, quoted in congressional hearings, adopted by billionaires. Crypto absorbed it instantly, fusing it with HODL culture into a complete theology of never selling. It remains the highest compliment one bag-holder can pay another.
Connections
Diamond is the patron discipline of Bag Hodler and Stonks, the sworn enemy of Paper Hands, and the only religion WAGMI and Maxi share.
In BomberMeme
DIAMOND fights as a rare B-tier Wildcard of the Degen arena, exploding into gemstone-grade liquidity. Grip: unbreakable. On the Solana card market his collectible is held, never sold — obviously.
